LCL L3 Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems

This course will teach you: Install, commission and handover small-scale solar PV systems. Inspect, service and maintain small-scale solar PV systems. This Level 3 award is a regulated, nationally recognised qualification, based on industry National Occupational Standards. It is recognised by Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies as a way to join the scheme.

Who is this course for:

This course is designed for anyone aged 18 and over, working in the electrical industry. You may want to update your skills or to use the course as part of your continuous professional development.

Course Content - The course is made up of four units:

  • LCL-R3010 - Know the requirements to install, commission and handover small-scale solar photovoltaic systems
  • LCL-R3011 - Install, commission and handover small-scale solar photovoltaic systems
  • LCL-R3012 - Know the requirements to inspect, service and maintain small-scale solar photovoltaic systems
  • LCL-R3013 - Inspect, service and maintain small-scale solar photovoltaic systems

Subjects included (but are not limited to):

  • Health and safety risks and safe systems of work
  • Regulations/standards relating to installation, testing and commissioning
  • Design principles of module array size and position
  • Protection techniques and components
  • Testing, commissioning and handover of solar photovoltaic systems
  • Commissioning, inspection, testing, handing over, servicing and maintenance of installations
  • Fault diagnosis and fixing

 **We provide the IET Code of Practice - Grid-Connected Solar PV Systems at a cost of £75.90. This book is mandatory for you to attend the course**

Prerequisites

To apply for this course you will need to be working within the electrical industry, have relevant experience and hold:

  • A Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671 (current edition)

and

  • A Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations or a combined award including Periodic Inspection & Testing.
