This course will teach you: The background and legislation relating to the Water Regulations, including design and installation requirements.
This course is for heating and plumbing installers who need to gain knowledge of the Water Regulations (1999) to apply to join your local Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme (WIAPS), a plumbing competent person scheme (CPS) or Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
Participants will cover:
*Background and legislation *The water fitting regulations *Fluid categories *Definitions *Materials and substances in contact with water *Requirements for water fittings *Design and installation requirements *Prevention of cross contamination *Backflow prevention *Cold water services *Hot water services *WC's, flushing and urinals *Baths, sinks and wash basins *Domestic appliance consumption limits *Water supplied for outside use (agricultural or similar) *Hygienic work practices *Installation of supply pipes *Approved contractors.
Learners registering for the course should be experience plumbers (minimum 2 years experience) and hold an industry recognised qualification at Level 2 or above. Learners new to the industry and undertaking a plumbing qualification may also undertake the course.
If you do not hold a recognised plumbing qualification Quantum will conduct and record an initial assessment of your skills, knowledge and understanding of plumbing prior to deciding your suitability to the course.
